Members of The Woman’s Club of Colorado Springs got a sneak peek at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum (USOPM), which is scheduled to open in May 2020.
The museum, currently under construction, will be the most technologically advanced museum to date.
Visitors can view Olympic and Paralymic artifacts such as Olympic Torches, medals, sports equipment and even the “Miracle On Ice” scoreboard! They can also participate in the interactive exhibits. Have you ever wanted to compete against an Olympic or Paralympic athlete? With the technologically advanced interactive exhibits you can!
Museum guests will be able to customize their visit with the aid of RFID technology. Each visitor will be given an RFID chip which is programmed to their specific interests. This will allow each display area to play program information relevant to the guests’ liking.
The USOPM will also include a rotating exhibit area, theater, café, gift shop, and areas for public use, many with a patio and amazing views of the mountains.
There will be access to a pedestrian bridge over I-25, connecting the museum to America the Beautiful Park, and an outdoor projector will play Olympic and Paralymic events onto the side of the building.
The United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum will be right at home in
Colorado Springs – Olympic City USA!
