Throughout the year The Woman’s Club of Colorado Springs members clip and save the postage stamps they receive. Each May, stamps collected by the various women’s clubs in Colorado, that are members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), are turned in at the Colorado Federation of Women’s Clubs (CFWC) Convention. The stamps are then sorted and sold to collectors. All money raised from the sale of these stamps is donated to the CFWC President’s Project.
Since 2010 CFWC has donated $2,585.87 to the various CFWC President’s projects. This year club members spent 2,082 hours and collected a total of 70 lbs. 5 oz. of stamps! Once the stamps have sold the money will go to the Marion Downs Center which develops and provides hearing, speech, and language services and programs to the Colorado community.
